Thinking about the future of healthcare

We are developing a culturally responsive and value sensitive micro-narrative approach that helps communities reflect on healthcare experiences, articulate future priorities, and generate richer insight for research, service design, and innovation.

A conversational tool that helps you reflect on healthcare experiences and articulate what matters most for the future.

Opportunity

Why this matters?

Healthcare organisations need better ways to understand what communities value, trust, and want from future care. Existing engagement methods often miss the reflective, nuanced, and culturally grounded perspectives that shape real-world healthcare decisions.

What this project does?

We are developing a conversational micro-narrative method that uses AI to support reflective storytelling, generate narrative summaries, and allow participant review thereby helping preserve voice, ownership, and depth while improving scalability.

Why it is promising?

The approach combines qualitative richness with a more structured, repeatable workflow, creating potential value for inclusive service design, public engagement, health research, and innovation across diverse communities.

From lived experience to usable strategic insight

A new way to gather reflective, culturally responsive insight at scale, without sacrificing nuance, trust, or participant voice. Practical for research, design, and real-world innovation.

A Companion

Supports reflective conversations about healthcare experiences in a more approachable and inclusive way.

A Future Vision Tool

Helps people imagine preferred healthcare futures and articulate what better care could look like.

A Discovery Tool

Reveals values, concerns, priorities, and opportunities for healthcare innovation and service design.

Built for relevance beyond a single study

Most engagement methods extract. This one listens. Starting with South Asian communities in the UK, we are building a reusable model for culturally grounded insight, one that can travel across contexts, communities, and healthcare systems.

A more inclusive model of community engagement
Culturally responsive healthcare and service design insight
A scalable qualitative method for public sector and health research
A stronger bridge between lived experience and innovation
A platform for future cross-context and cross-cultural studies
Practical relevance for prevention, trust, access, and community wellbeing

Connect with us

We are interested in collaborating with NHS, public health, healthcare strategy, community engagement, design research, HCI, and digital health partners who can help extend, evaluate, apply, or support this method in real-world settings.
